Position Title:         Human Resources Intern

Salary Range:

This is an unpaid position. Per discretion of the university/college, this opportunity may be eligible for school credit

Contract Length:  Minimum of 15 hours per week and 1-semester commitment, up to 6 months if desirable

Immediate Supervisor:  Director of Human Resources

Position Summary:

In this experience, you will gain a well-rounded perspective of a Human Resources Department in the largest school system in St. Joseph County. You will serve the Corporation’s dedicated team of over 3000 teachers, bus drivers,
paraprofessionals, and administrators under the direction of the Director

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Data entry
2. Answer telephones
3. Keep telephone log
4. Organize and maintain file system for employees
5. Work closely with Human Resources staff to gain a real-world perspective of Human Resources
6. Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials for files or distributions
7. Accompany Director and staff on various offsite assignments

1. High School Diploma
2. Exceptional customer service skills
3. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
4. Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
5. Ability to work with constant interruptions
6. Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks with continued attention to detail
7. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and data analytics software
8. Bilingual/Biliterate preferred

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs., sit, stand, walk, speak, hear and use close vision.
