POSITION:                                          Cafeteria Security

 

SALARY RANGE:                                $10.50/hr. – 2 hours per day

                         

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:            Building Principal

 

Position Function

Under direct supervision of the Building Security Supervisor and the Principal to ensure a safe and secure cafeteria environment, as well as the personal safety of students, staff, and visitors.

 

Essential Functions

·         Provides for the safety and security of students, staff, visitors and School District property in accordance with School District policies to provide an educational climate which is conductive to learning.

·         Reports concerns and incidents which may require corrective action to Building Security Supervisor and Principal.

·         Encourages appropriate student conduct with regard to school rules and regulations and regulations.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

 

·         Knowledge of best practices in building security and safety.

·         Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate with the principal, security guards and others.

·         Ability to describe orally or in writing security problems as needed.

·         Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.

·         Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.

·         Ability to maintain a professional, calm and authoritative manner when challenged by students.

 

Working conditions

 

·         Works in standard office and school building environment.

·         Must be able to work regular scheduled hours.

·         Must be able to handle stress.

·         Physical ability to separate students or others involved in altercations.

 

Qualifications Profile:

 

·         High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
