287 K-12 Inst. Technology Mechanics Facilitator

Position Title: K-12 Instructional Technology Mechanics Facilitator

Salary Range: Teacher Contract plus Daily Rate

Contract Length: August 1-June 30

Supervisor: Director of Digital Integration

Basic Function:
Plan, organize, control, and direct operations and activities involved in the planning, development and implementation of all K-12 Instructional Technology Mechanics Facilitator assignments; coordinate and direct the research, collection, processing, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of assessment data in the evaluation of the educational effectiveness of educational programs, operations, and instructional activities. The Instructional Technology Facilitator is an agent of change and is actively engaged in professional capacity throughout systems thinking, curriculum planning, lesson design, and instruction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provide support for high quality teaching and learning through the effective utilization of learning technologies.
2. Provide flexible site-based support to educational staff.
3. Assist in development of online training and professional learning opportunities.
4. Collaborate with teachers, teacher librarians, school administrators, school leadership teams to evaluate, select, and develop digital resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals.
5. Support instructional practice in a blended learning environment.
6. Prepare and develop training resources (print material, multimedia, web-based) to support instructional practice.
7. Support specialized district programs and persons that have technology needs (summer school, media centers, teacher evaluation, high ability, guidance teams, secretaries, etc.).
8. Work with the Director of Instructional Technology for continuous improvement and development of professional development for curriculum and technology integration.
9. Assist in the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology programs.
10. Attend District events and represent #TeamSouthBend outside of normal working hours.
11. Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent of the South Bend Community School Corporation.

Incumbent must hold a valid Indiana teaching certification, five (5) years of effective classroom teaching experience, possess strong planning, listening, organizational, supervisory, analytical, problem-solving, computer, accountability, multi-tasking, flexibility, resourcefulness, and oral and written communication skills. Incumbent must possess knowledge of the comprehensive organization, operations, policies, and objectives of assigned department or area. Knowledge and experience with a variety of computer hardware and software applications, including but not limited to: Google Apps for Education, Web 2.0, Interactive Whiteboards, PowerSchool/PowerTeacher

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's Degree or higher, as well as certification in grades K-12. Certification in High Ability or NBCT-National Board Certified or Educational Technology is also preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is seated or walking at will and must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds.

Works in standard office and school building environments. Must be able to work regularly scheduled hours. Must be able to handle stress.
