Position Title:             Project Lead the Way Teacher

Salary Range:             Teacher Contract Salary

Contract Length:       Contractual Year

Position Summary: 

This is a teaching position in Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses.  Applicants need PLTW certifications in one or more of the courses currently offered.   Current courses include: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, Civil Engineering & Architecture, Computer Science and Software Engineering, and Engineering Design & Development.

Immediate Supervisor:  Building Principal

Job Description:

  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes
  • Differentiate instruction to meet individual student learning styles
  • Participate in Magnet Program events
  • Provide instruction of PLTW courses
  • Utilize a learning management system for the instruction of PLTW courses
  • Communicate regularly with parents and provide opportunities for parent involvement
  • Manage the behavioral, social, and emotional issues of a diverse ethnic/racial student population
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrate experience implementing innovative instructional programs
  • Participate in recruitment activities
  • Maintain state and federal reporting requirements. Participate in PLTW Advisory Committee meetings

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Indiana Technology Education License
  • PLTW certification in Introduction to Engineering Design
  • PLTW certification in 1 or more additional engineering courses
  • Prior teaching experience preferred but not required
  • Curriculum and organizational skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, faculty and administration.
  • Knowledge in the use of the Microsoft Office Professional Software, and all PLTW related software programs
