011 Principal of CTE/Dir. College & Career Readiness

 Position Title:                       Principal of CTE/Director of College and Career Readiness

 Salary Range:                        Principal Salary

 Contract Length:                 Administrator Contract

 Immediate Supervisor:     ILD: Secondary

 Position Summary:       

Plan, organize, control and direct operations and activities involved in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all CTE assignments; coordinate and direct the research, collection, processing, analysis, interpretation and reporting of assessment data in the evaluation of the educational effectiveness of educational programs, operations and instructional activities.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, promote, and participate in an effective public relations program within the community, including labor and management organizations, and cooperating agencies to maximize the programs, opportunities, and access for high school students.
  2. Administer the total CTE education program including business, family and consumer sciences, and engineering and technology education programming in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  3. Oversee District College and Career Readiness to include but not exclusive to dual credit, AP, ACP, graduation rate diploma programs, and Technical Honors.
  4. Manage stackable credentials and develops a long-range plan to ensure students are graduating with Associates Degrees.
  5. Administer the total Adult Education program including Adult EL and family literacy programs in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  6. Assume all responsibility for coordination of CTE programs, diploma programs as well as dual credit, Early College, College and Career Readiness, and Career Pathways.
  7. Prepare the budget and requisitions for the purchase of CTE and Adult Ed program equipment and supplies.
  8. Guide the development of systems and procedures for effective, efficient, and economical operation of the CTE and Adult Ed programs.
  9. Monitor and revise CTE policies and administrative guidelines.
  10. Mentor middle school CTE activities.
  11. Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent or CAO.

 Qualifications:

  1. Masters Degree and Administrator’s License
  2. Prior Administrative Experience working with CTE and College and Career Readiness
  3. Experience Working with Community Agencies and Groups
  4. Experience with Day-to-Day Operation of Schools
  5. Strong Knowledge of Child Development
  6. Demonstrated Skill in Building Relationships, Trust and Respect
  7. Creative and Imaginative Approach to Problems
  8. Ability to work effectively with Individuals and Groups
  9. Strong Speaking and Writing Abilities

 Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs., sit, stand, walk, speak, hear and use close vision.
