014 Assistant Principal of CTE

Position Title:              Assistant Principal of CTE

Salary Range:                Assistant Principal Salary

Contract Length:           One year

Immediate Supervisor:  Principal of CTE/Director of College and Career Readiness

Basic Function:

This is a full-time, 12 month position for a creative individual to develop a comprehensive recruitment and promotional program with objectives of increasing the enrollment in all Career & Technical Education programs and building strong business, industry and community partnerships to provide experiential opportunities for students enrolled in CTE courses.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan to increase enrollment in all current and upcoming Career and Technical Education programs - events and activities to promote CTE at all high schools - promotional programs for all intermediate schools.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive promotional plan to inform administration, faculty/staff, guidance personnel, parents and community about CTE.
  3. Develop and maintain a recruitment/promotional calendar.
  4. Develop and maintain recruitment budget.
  5. Develop and prepare recruitment and promotional materials.
  6. Oversee all special CTE events and coordination.
  7. Oversee maintenance of recruiting database to ensure complete and accurate candidate data.
  8. Coordinate with Career Guidance Specialists to accomplish all recruitment goals.
  9. Coordinate interview process of interested students in all CTE programs.
  10. Assist with screening of all CTE program applicants.
  11. Assist in building strong and diverse business partnerships in order to locate internship and cooperative training stations for students.
  12. Attend all General CTE Advisory Committee meetings.
  13. Attend state and national meetings and/or conferences that will assist with job performance.
  14. Support coordination of CTE programs, diploma programs as well as dual credit, Early College, College and Career Readiness, and Career Pathways.
  15. Support the management of stackable credentials and development of a long-range plan to ensure students are graduating with Associate Degrees.

 Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree required.
  2. A minimum of five years of professional experience in public relations, education, or industry.
  3. Recruiting, marketing, and/or public relations experience preferred.
  4. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and be self-directed to achieve stated goals.
  5. Ability to work effectively and cooperate with students, administration, faculty/staff and general public using tact and diplomacy.
  6. Proven ability in administration of projects.
  7. Familiarity with Career and Technical Education.
  8. Exhibit excellent organization skills.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  10. Knowledge in the use of the Microsoft Office Professional Software and desktop publishing/presentation software.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs., sit, stand, walk, speak, hear and use close vision.
