709 Talent Acquisition Specialist

Position Title:             Talent Acquisition Specialist                                           

Salary Range:               $35,000-$45,000

Contract Length:       Twelve Months

Supervisor:                    Director of Human Resources

Basic Function:
The onboarding specialist is responsible for thoroughly reviewing all new hires for completeness of paperwork.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Track pre-employment screening (drug screens, background checks, licenses) of all applicants and report to hiring managers in a timely manner, answering questions as needed.
  2. Communicate effectively with hiring managers throughout SBCSC to ensure that they remain updated regarding the processing progress.
  3. Manage and update employee information such as, address changes, phone numbers and name changes in AS400/RDS system.
  4. Manage applicants from application to final offer.
  5. Compile interview questions, schedule interview times, compile data, and follow up on all candidates.
  6. Verify I-9’s are completed properly and all identification is provided.
  7. Create and maintain employee files.
  8. Track student teachers and employment offers.
  9. Collaborate across all departments.
  10. Travel as required to Job Fairs; manage recruitment and social media.
  11. Other duties as assigned by unit heads.


  1. Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years onboarding experience.
  2. Certified Teacher; PHR; SHRM-CP, preferred.
  3. Exceptional customer service.
  4. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to remain professional throughout stressful situations, resolve problems with creativity, confidentiality, and tact.
  6. Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks with continued attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs., sit, stand, walk, speak, hear and use close vision.
