914 Migrant Summer School Site Coordinator-Special Pro

POSITION TITLE:                                  Migrant Site Coordinator - Special Projects

RECRUITED BY:                                    Director of Bilingual Services / MRSC Region #1

 CONTRACT LENGTH:                     June 17 - July 24, 2019, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

 LOCATION:                                           TBD / Two Sites

 POSITION SUMMARY:       

Supports students in developing leadership and employment ready skills.  Candidate will be required to assist students in the development of an electronic career portfolio and graduation plan. Assists students with academic needs. Participates in an after-school program during summer school. 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual preferred
  • Minimum of two years of study at an institution of higher education
  • Prefer individuals with a four year degree, special training in a STEM area, or counseling experience

 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees all aspects of the migrant special projects grant
  • Supervises and coordinates all activities, including field trips, leadership training, and development of an electronic career portfolio and graduation plan
  • Works closely with the migrant summer school administrator and director of bilingual/MRSC services
  • Responsible for maintaining discipline, keeping attendance, and completing all necessary student-related paperwork
  • Development and implementation of a leadership curriculum
  • Assist students with credit accrual
  • Communicates with MRSC staff, students, and families
  • Collects and maintains qualitative and quantitative data
  • Tutors students as needed
  • Coordinates participation of students in community initiatives
  • Coordinate all logistics (transportation, meeting locations, field trips, materials and resources, etc.) with the MRSC staff and director of bilingual/MRSC services.
  • Monitor the safety of all participants
