521 COVID-19 Project Manager-SB Empowerment Zone

Position Title: COVID-19 Project Manager

Location: South Bend, IN

Employment Dates: Immediate through June 2021

POSITION SUMMARY:

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way that teaching and learning are taking place this upcoming school year. As the South Bend Empowerment Zone (SBEZ) prepares for students and staff to return to in-person instruction, it’s critical that our schools are safe and ready for their return. The South Bend Empowerment Zone is seeking talented individuals to lead its COVID-19 response, ensure that the proper safety protocols are in place and followed, and that the staff (and students) have the appropriate training and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor CDC guidelines and provide guidance as to policy changes and response activities
  • Communicate new guidelines, policies, and procedures from state and local health departments, the Center for Disease Control, the Governor, and SBCSC to staff and students.
  • Support the development, updates, and implementation of all COVID-19 school safety protocols and guidelines
  • Monitor school, staff, and student compliance with all COVID-19 Safety Guidelines
  • Develop training materials and train employees and students on hand hygiene, importance of physical distancing, and respiratory etiquette.
  • Communicate with families and employees regarding questions and concerns related to COVID-19
  • Lead the SBEZ response and communication efforts if staff or students test positive for COVID-19, including working with school-level contact tracing teams, SBCSC staff, and local health officials
  • Establish solid working relationships with SBCSC staff and local health officials and attend all COVID-19 related meetings
  • Investigate and recommend additional actions to mitigate COVID-19 spread prevention
  • Monitor cleaning staff to make sure that high touch/high use areas are cleaned and disinfected, including review of cleaning logs.
  • Ensure that SBEZ schools and staff always have the appropriate cleaning materials and PPE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical information clearly to variety of audiences
  • Big-picture thinking and vision
  • Self-starter with ability to conduct multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of a collaborative team
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt quickly amidst new and shifting priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Healthcare/Public Health/Social Services background

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. The SBEZ also offers health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits to its employees.
